{"id":3131,"date":"2024-01-17T09:41:34","date_gmt":"2024-01-17T16:41:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lunarg.com\/?p=3131"},"modified":"2025-01-15T17:36:01","modified_gmt":"2025-01-16T00:36:01","slug":"lunarg-releases-new-vulkan-1-3-275-0-sdks-for-windows-linux-macos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lunarg.com\/lunarg-releases-new-vulkan-1-3-275-0-sdks-for-windows-linux-macos\/","title":{"rendered":"LunarG Releases NEW Vulkan 1.3.275.0 SDKs for Windows, Linux, &#038; macOS"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><span style=\"font-size: 22px;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Vulkan 1.3.275.0 SDKs are now Available<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><em>Released 17 Jan 2024<\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Today\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lunarg.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LunarG<\/a> released a new\u00a0SDK for Windows, Linux, &amp; macOS\u00a0that supports\u00a0Vulkan API revision 1.3.275.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">The highlights below are not a replacement for the important and\u00a0<strong><em>detailed information in the release notes!<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"toc_3\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Highlights of New Features in SDK 1.3.275.0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">This SDK supports Vulkan API revision 1.3.275.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">VK_EXT_layer_settings was created to enable configuring any layer programmatically, from the Vulkan application code.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">By default, Synchronization Validation now also reports issues between or outside of recorded command buffers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Debug Printf no longer implicitly includes stage specific information (such as gl_InvocationId) in its output.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Added to the Vulkan Profiles API library the capability to check the support of a Vulkan Profile that supports multiple variants.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Added to the Vulkan Profiles API library the ability to create VkDevice and VkInstance instances using specific capabilities blocks.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Added the support of a Vulkan Profile requiring other profiles.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">The Vulkan Configurator (vkconfig) has been updated to improve quality and stability.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Profiles were added, replaced, and removed from the SDK. See the release notes for profile specifics.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">The Vulkan headers now include over a dozen new extensions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">The glslang legacy libraries named HLSL and OGLCompiler have been removed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Added CMake files to support building applications with CMake and the glslang shipped with the SDK.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Improved Vulkan validation coverage.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"toc_4\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><strong>Apple Platform Highlights<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><strong>iOS: (NEW!)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">iOS now fully supports the Vulkan Loader and Vulkan Layers!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Support for the iOS simulator is not currently available in this SDK. Apple Silicon machines can run and debug iOS applications directly on the macOS desktop.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"> <strong>macOS:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Deprecation Notice\u00a0&#8211; The Vulkan Loader will no longer be distributed as a Framework starting with the next SDK release. The loader is provided as a .dylib and can be included directly in the \/Frameworks folder of your application bundle. This is the recommended usage model for using the Vulkan loader moving forward.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">XCode AND the XCode command line tools\u00a0are required to run the installer due to it&#8217;s dependency on Python3 being present on your system.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"> <strong>MoltenVK:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">MoltenVK updated\u00a0to version 1.2.7.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Metal capabilities through MoltenVK\u00a0will be now be achieved by the VK_EXT_metal_objects, and the VK_EXT_layer_settings extensions.
