{"id":3107,"date":"2023-10-24T08:15:48","date_gmt":"2023-10-24T14:15:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lunarg.com\/?p=3107"},"modified":"2025-01-15T17:38:08","modified_gmt":"2025-01-16T00:38:08","slug":"lunarg-releases-new-vulkan-1-3-268-0-sdks-for-windows-linux-macos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lunarg.com\/lunarg-releases-new-vulkan-1-3-268-0-sdks-for-windows-linux-macos\/","title":{"rendered":"LunarG Releases NEW Vulkan 1.3.268.0 SDKs for Windows, Linux, &#038; macOS"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong>Vulkan SDK Version 1.3.268.0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><em>Released 24 Oct 2023<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Today LunarG released\u00a0new\u00a0<strong>Windows, Linux, and macOS SDKs<\/strong>\u00a0for Vulkan API revision 1.3.268.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Overview of New Features<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>vk_format_utils.h is now an official SDK deliverable<\/p>\n<p>vk_enum_string_helper.h is now a C compatible header file<\/p>\n<p>To improve layer consistency, the naming of layer and layer settings of the extension layers has been refactored which may not be backward compatible with existing Vulkan developer environment setup when not using the Vulkan Configurator. Please, refer to the\u00a0VK_LAYER_KHRONOS_synchronization2 and\u00a0VK_LAYER_KHRONOS_shader_object\u00a0layer documentation to update the developer environment in case of any issue.<\/p>\n<p>The Vulkan Configurator (vkconfig) has been updated to improve quality and stability.<\/p>\n<p>The Vulkan headers now include the following new extensions. Note that extensions are optional and may not be implemented by the underlying driver\/ICD. Applications can now query for the presence of these new features.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>VK_EXT_nested_command_buffer<\/li>\n<li>VK_NV_extended_sparse_address_space<\/li>\n<li>VK_ANDROID_external_format_resolve<\/li>\n<li>VK_NV_low_latency2<\/li>\n<li>VK_EXT_frame_boundary<\/li>\n<li>VK_MSFT_layered_driver (support not yet in Vulkan Loader)<\/li>\n<li>VK_NV_descriptor_pool_overallocation<\/li>\n<li>VK_QCOM_filter_cubic_clamp<\/li>\n<li>VK_QCOM_filter_cubic_weights<\/li>\n<li>VK_QCOM_image_processing2<\/li>\n<li>VK_QCOM_ycbcr_degamma<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Improved validation coverage.
