The prior SDK supported Vulkan API revision 1.2.154.\u00a0 Read on for information about the new features and added extensions.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2 dir=\"auto\" data-sourcepos=\"36:1-36:43\">Overview of new features in Vulkan SDK 1.2.162<\/h2>\n<h3>New features in Windows and Linux SDKs<\/h3>\n<p>The new Windows and Linux SDKs provide support for the new Vulkan Ray Tracing functionality, the GFXReconstruct optimize utility, GPU assisted validation support for bounds checking of accesses from shaders, and a list of other new extensions. See the complete list below:<\/p>\n<p>New <strong>Vulkan Ray Tracing support<\/strong> includes Validation layers and the final versions of\u00a0 Vulkan, GLSL, and SPIR-V extensions that integrate ray tracing into the existing Vulkan framework. New extensions include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>VK_KHR_acceleration_structure<\/li>\n<li>VK_KHR_ray_tracing_pipeline<\/li>\n<li>VK_KHR_ray_query<\/li>\n<li>VK_KHR_pipeline_library<\/li>\n<li>VK_KHR_deferred_host_operations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>GFXReconstruct optimize utility <\/strong>has been added. See the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/vulkan.lunarg.com\/doc\/sdk\/1.2.162\/windows\/capture_tools.html\">GFXReconstruct documentation<\/a><\/strong> for more details.<\/p>\n<p><strong>GPU assisted validation support for bounds checking of accesses from shaders<\/strong> of uniform, storage, uniform texel, and storage texel buffers is included.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Vulkan Configurator (vkconfig) has been updated to improve quality and stability<\/strong>.
