LunarG has been hard at work developing the LunarG Mesa Graphics Testing Service. Today we’re happy to announce with Valve that we’re making the service available to the Mesa development community.<\/p>\n

Overview<\/h2>\n

Valve has been\u00a0using this system internally for quite some time, but we’ve recently\u00a0done some more work so the results could also be publicly available for\u00a0the community to track regressions, and for developers to be able to\u00a0submit their branches for pre-submit testing.<\/p>\n

The LunarG test system is a service that provides regular regression\u00a0testing on Mesa releases for Intel and AMD OpenGL graphics drivers. It\u00a0also enables users to test their own Mesa builds and compare results to\u00a0LunarG baselines, LunarG test runs, or user test runs.<\/p>\n

The objective of\u00a0the LunarG Graphics Testing Service for Mesa is to identify regressions in\u00a0performance or rendering for Mesa releases and developer’s branches that\u00a0would negatively impact the gaming experience.<\/p>\n

The test suite is a collection of trace files created from hundreds of\u00a0Linux OpenGL games from Steam. These trace files are used to automate\u00a0testing of rendering correctness as well as game performance. There are\u00a0currently six graphics platforms available for test (three configurations each\u00a0of Intel and AMD graphics). The full suite of games typically runs\u00a0overnight with results posted the next day.<\/p>\n

Tips for Using the Test System<\/h2>\n
